Middlesex Seconds total of 267 off their 50 overs, in their Second Eleven Trophy Zone B match against Northamptonshire at Northampton on Monday July 11th, was completely shot a away by Robert White who scored 141 from 71 balls with 8 six’s and 18 four’s.
Middlesex seconds, on winning the toss and batting, had a good start as they reached 100-2 in the 25th, with Nick Compton gone for 43. The innings was held together by Mark Wright who was out for 103 in the 47th in was helped in the later stages of the innings by David Nash with 60 not out as Middlesex finished on 267-4.
In their reply Northamptonshire got off to flyer as they reached 161-1 in 16th with Sam Seadon gone for 40 and White on 110. When White went for 141 in the 21st with the score on 197 -2 Northamptonshire slowed down as Gerard Brophy saw them home with 44 not out as they reached their target in 33rd for the loss of 3 wickets (268-3) with 17 overs to spare . The only glimmer of hope for Middlesex on a disappointing day was the off-spin of Ollie Roland-Jones who finished with figures of 60-2 in his 10 overs. Northamptonshire, who have not lost a match in the group, require a win against Nottinghamshire to reach the semi-finals.
