Left hand batsman / right arm off spin bowler
Adam is an exceptional young all-rounder who has already featured regularly in the Sunbury First Eleven side. He is a brilliant fielder, a technically proficient top order batsman and an accurate off spin bowler. Adam has a natural love for the game and always plays with a smile on his face. I have no doubt that he will work hard on the Academy and will go from strength to strength next season.

Larger than life in more ways than one – Hassan has a big frame, a big heart and big ability. He is a natural competitor, who always wants to be in the action, whether it is displaying his elegant batting technique or creating havoc with his wily off spin. In all youth cricket, he took 24 wickets @ an average of 18.92.
Hassan has an excellent pair of hands and he worked extremely hard last winter in shedding four stone. He will continue on a huge fitness drive again this winter to ensure that his talent has every opportunity of coming fully to the fore.

Right arm medium fast bowler / right hand batsman
Bangladeshi-born Maruf Chowdhury – fondly nicknamed ‘Hole-in!’ by his fellow players – enjoyed a good season with the ball in the County Under 17 sides, where his steady away swing deliveries brought him 14 wickets @ 25.86.
A team-mate of Hassan’s at Wanstead CC, Maruf has had to learn quickly about the physical demands of performing as a fast bowler in 2-day competitive cricket. His personal fitness programme this winter should provide him with the overall strength and flexibility package to prevent the sorts of physical niggles that affected him at times throughout the 2005 season. Maruf has definite potential with the bat – he needs a mindset to match the technique!

Formerly with Hertfordshire youth squads, Edgware-born and Middlesex-qualified all-rounder Gavin Baker starts this year’s Academy with oodles of promise. A physically strong and mature 17-year-old, he exhibits a good, solid high action with natural outswing. His batting, too, is technically compact with a full face of the bat regularly presented to the ball.

At 16, Faisal is a raw talent. Like, Gavin, he too has a good, high release
position and the ability to swing the ball away from right-handed batsmen.
He is a good middle order batsman with the real potential to become a high
