Shah hundred on rain ruined day.

Vs: Lancashire

Match: LVCC 1

Venue: Old Trafford

Day 2

Rain prevented any play at Old Trafford until 3.30pm on the second day of the Liverpool Victoria County Championship against Lancashire.

Resuming from their overnight score of 148-3, Middlesex advanced to tea without further mishap with Owais Shah going into tea on 95 not out in the Middlesex total of 184-3. Shah reached his second championship hundred of the season in the third over after tea (off 167 balls, 1 six & 14 fours) to follow his hundred in the Nat West Pro 40 match two days earlier. Shortly afterwards he fell to a delivery from Keedy which bounced and turned sharply to have him caught at slip for 103.

Eoin Morgan played on to a delivery from Tom Smith for eight and Scott Styris was LBW to Keedy having made 39 as Middlesex slipped to 218-6. Paul Weekes and David Nash consolidated the situation, surviving eleven overs of the new ball as Middlesex advanced to 258-6 at the close of play.

With further rain forecast for the remaining two days, it is unlikely that anything more than a battle for batting and bowling points will occur.
