Chris Silverwood

Middlesex are pleased to announce the signing of Chris Silverwood from Yorkshire CCC where he played an important role in the seam attack for 13 years, after coming through the club’s cricket academy.

Silverwood played for England Under 19s in 1994, and went on to record match figures of 4-71 on his Test debut in Bulawayo in 1996-97. He had to wait three years before he was selected again on the 1999-2000 tour of South Africa. Silverwood has also represented England in the Hong Kong Sixes tournament in 2002 and 2003. He helped Yorkshire win the County Championship in 2001, taking 33 wickets despite being restricted to eight appearances due to a rib injury.
